Why this form.

Cranberry, counted in PACs.

01

Cranberry is measured in PACs, the proanthocyanidins. Ours says 36 mg. A label that says cranberry 500 mg with no PAC figure may be mostly juice powder and sugar.

02

Magnesium and potassium as citrates. Both salts are on the label with their own numbers, and the elemental amount is stated for each.

03

B6 as pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the form the body uses as it is. 1.9 mg, one Indian RDA, not a megadose.

How to take it.

2 capsules, in the morning, with a full glass of water.

  1. 01

Two capsules in the morning with a full glass of water. Then keep the water going through the day; the capsules are the smaller half of the habit.

  2. 02

23 mm, size 00, the biggest capsule we make. The two citrates take room. A capsule, not a tablet, so it goes down easier than it looks.

  3. 03

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, take any daily prescribed medicine, or a doctor has asked you to watch your potassium, ask before you start.

What to expect. KidneyCare.

Subtle. Slow.
On purpose.

A real dose does not announce itself. You are not going to feel it on day one. You are not meant to. Here is what four weeks and twelve weeks tend to look like, and the one day you will notice most.

  1. Week 1

Nothing to feel. Two capsules, one full glass of water, every morning. Count how many glasses you get through in a day. That is the useful part of week one.

  2. Week 4

Still quiet. If the water habit has stuck, that is the thing we most wanted. Give it the full four weeks.

  3. Week 12

Nothing you can point at, and that is what a steady dose does. It supports normal kidney function and normal urinary tract function, day after day.* Read the label again. It has not changed.

Five questions.

Ask the label.

Short answers. If yours is missing, the email is in the footer.

  1. 01Is this the same as drinking cranberry juice?

No. A glass of packaged cranberry juice is mostly sugar and water, and the PAC figure is rarely on the carton. This is an extract standardised to 36 mg of PACs in two capsules, with no sugar.

  2. 02Why punarnava and gokshura?

Two Indian herbs with a long history of everyday use, and both are usually sold in a blend with no amounts. Here each has its own line: 200 mg of punarnava root extract at 10 to 1, 200 mg of gokshura fruit extract at 40 percent saponins.

  3. 03Can I take it at night instead?

Morning is better. Two capsules with a full glass of water in the morning starts the day's water. At night it starts a trip to the bathroom.

  4. 04It has potassium. Should I worry?

100 mg as potassium citrate, about a quarter of a banana. For most people that is nothing to think about. If a doctor has asked you to limit potassium, or you take a medicine that affects it, ask before you start.

  5. 05Will it make me go more often?

Mostly the water. Take them in the morning, not at bedtime, and if anything about it bothers you, stop and ask your doctor.
